How Happiness Differs In Humans !!

When asked, what makes you happy? To some the answer is love, to some it is money, to some it’s alone time with a book, while to some it is to travel… To each his own.  Happiness is subjective and substantially meaningful only to the person feeling it.

As a child, our happiness had nothing to do with the world around us. We were not subjected to others’ definition of happiness or their decisions. But as we grow, we feel the need to make everyone around us happy. We try to please everyone and eventually assume that making them happy will keep us happy too. But does it really work?

We lose ourselves trying to keep up with everyone’s whims and fancies. Even when we want to believe that we are content, all we feel is the worldly pressure and stress, lonely in a crowd chanting your name. A fake smile masked upon your face doesn’t help your inner self.

Over a period, you realize that you cannot make everyone happy. There will be someone, at least one, who’ll not be content with your decisions. And it is okay. It is okay to keep only one person happy. And it is okay if that one person is YOU. Because in the end of it all, everyone will leave, people around you will change, scenarios will be different but the only constant in your life will be you. You cannot run away from yourself. It is important to consider everyone’s opinion but it is more important to consider your own. People will perceive and judge you either way. Do what makes you smile. Do not let go of anything, which you will regret later, for anyone. Once you are content within, everybody who is significant in your life will eventually come around too.

P.S: If they don’t, they were going to leave you anyway.
